Accreditation and Safety
All five Children’s Dental Surgery centers, in Bethlehem, Lancaster, Malvern, Philadelphia, and Jackson, New Jersey, are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

What AAAHC accreditation means
Accreditation means our centers take part in ongoing evaluation, peer review, and education to keep improving care. Each center also completes a thorough on-site survey every three years. Children’s Dental Surgery centers are certified by federal and state regulatory authorities.
How we monitor your child
Throughout treatment under general anesthesia, dedicated medical staff monitor your child’s vital signs. Board-certified anesthesiologists give the anesthesia, and registered nurses are in the operating room at all times. Learn how anesthesia works.
Who is in the room
During each procedure, the following individuals will be present in the operating room. The dentist will perform all restorative and operatory procedures and will be supported by a registered dental assistant (RDA), dental assistant (DA), or expanded function dental assistant (EFDA). A medical doctor of anesthesia (anesthesiologist) or certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) with specialized training in pediatrics will administer the anesthesia for your child and monitor their vital signs during the procedure. A registered nurse will also be present to monitor your child during the procedure, as well as after the procedure in our recovery room.
